As reported by news agency ANI, Pakistan is facing a severe food crisis.
Local media reported that there is a severe shortage of wheat flour in many parts of the country. Since last week, flour prices have skyrocketed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan provinces. A packet of flour is sold for 3000 Pakistani rupees.
People of Pakistan blame Islamabad and POK government for this food crisis. According to an ANI report, the government’s subsidized supply of wheat has almost completely stopped and prices of other essential commodities have also skyrocketed.
According to a report in Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper, police used batons on a crowd of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. A mob surrounded a lorry carrying bags of subsidized wheat flour and attacked the police by throwing stones at its driver.
