The Pokémon Company International said there will be a new patch for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet in February.
Update version. Version 1.2.0, which will include bug fixes and add functionality, is scheduled for release in late February. Please look forward to more details soon,” says The Pokémon Company in A statement on its official website.
Shortly after its release in November, update 1.1.0 was pushed out, adding features such as ranked battles, and fixing some “chosen bugs” such as music not playing correctly during battles against the Elite Four. However, the patch didn’t seem to address many of the technical and performance issues the games were experiencing.
Unfortunately, The Pokémon Company hasn’t provided any specific details on whether the upcoming patch will mitigate the performance issues. So far, it looks like it will continue to fix more bugs and include additional features.
Despite the many bugs and performance issues found in the games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet set a new all-time sales record with a combined 10 million units sold within its first three days of release.
In IGN’s Pokemon Scarlet review, we said, “The open-world gameplay of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a great direction for the franchise’s future, but that promising shift has been sabotaged by the many ways Scarlet and Violet feel incomplete.”
