Fawad Chaudhry called on the military to support the government
Pakistani media quoted Don Fawad Chaudhry as saying that the army has always stood by the current government as per the constitutional plan. The military must follow the constitution. The military establishment has made it clear that it no longer supports Imran Khan and is now “neutral”. The selectors (military organization) have begun the search for a new captain.
The Pakistani military is angry with Imran Khan’s statement
According to insiders, the military establishment was outraged by Imran Khan’s public statement that he supported the military in his fight with the united opposition, which took a negative turn on Thursday night. According to media reports, following the order of Imran Khan, the police tried to forcibly arrest the opposition MPs of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan (JUIF) from the lodge of the parliament where they were staying. To thwart the operation, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the leader of the JUIF, sent volunteers from his personal fighters, Ansar-ul-Islam.
Supporters of Maulana Fazlur Rahman arrested
Ansar-ul-Islam volunteers protect party leaders during rallies, especially during election periods. Rahman said that despite the government claiming that the volunteers of the banned organization were armed, Imran Khan wanted to arrest and abduct opposition members of the National Assembly to reduce their numbers during the no-confidence motion session. Police arrested 19 MPs along with supporters after a fierce fight between police and JUIF volunteers inside and outside the Parliament Lodge in Islamabad.
Sharing some pictures and video clips, the senior Pakistani journalist has a word on Twitter: Shame. Is this how an elected Member of Parliament should be treated? Such a strategy always backfires. Prime Minister Imran Khan you promised change, but your government is repeating the ugly scenes of our turbulent history. The united opposition has called for a nationwide struggle. Rahman asked his supporters to reach Islamabad or block roads in their cities and register their protest against this incompetent government.
Rehman quoted the Pakistani media as saying, “We demand the release of our MNA (MP) and others and an apology from the government and the police.” We have declared war (political fighting) and will not forgive them for this terrorism. Former PPP leader and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that puppet Prime Minister Imran Khan is creating fear and panic among parliamentarians and harassing them. He is going crazy and harassing MPs.
Meanwhile, Najam Sethi, a senior Pakistani journalist, writes that Imran Khan’s strategy is to drag the military back into intervention politics to oppose his violent expulsion. In other words, their preferred option is to spread political chaos in the country if they are not allowed to rule.
