People Like Android tablets? This is the strange world that the latest news from Samsung brings us. The company has manufactured Galaxy Tab S8 The list is available for pre-order last week, and now Samsung says the tablet is so popular that it had to stop taking pre-orders.

XDA Developers I noticed that pre-orders for some models were closed and got the following statement from Samsung:

We are excited about the consumer response to the new Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. Due to massive demand in the last 48 hours, we will be pausing pre-orders on Samsung.com for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8. We work quickly to meet the consumer’s desire and demand. Please stay tuned for more updates

Samsung Launched three models From last week’s S8: base model Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra. Only Tab S8 + is Still for salewith the Tab S8 at $699 and the Ultra model at $1,099 listed as “entirely sold out.”

The Ultra made headlines for being a giant 14.6-inch tablet with a unique design with a slim bezel and Macbook-Pro-style screen notch for the front camera. Other models have a more traditional tablet design. The main specifications of the Tab S8 sports line, with Snapdragon 8 Gen-1 SoC, 8 GB of RAM, HD displays and aluminum bodies.

There’s no clear reason why the Tab S8 has suddenly become so popular. Other than the notch of the camera, Samsung’s Tab S8 line isn’t much different from the Tab S7 line, which was launched in 2020. Samsung chose not to update the Tab S line in 2021, indicating that it wasn’t a huge seller. The company says the shortage is due to higher sales, but it could just be the usual supply chain problems. According to IDC, Samsung is Tablet PC Maker Number Two After Apple, with 20 percent of the market.

Google hopes to revive Android tablets with the launch of Android 12 for in March and pushed for more tablet apps. We haven’t seen the effects of that on the market yet, but many OEMs, including Samsung, are showing a renewed commitment to Android tablets.
