- Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi showed the shoe to the Saudi ambassador.
- The Pakistani news channel mocked Qureshi and mocked the government through deception
- Anchor asked, “Are you showing poverty with torn shoes?”, Mocking the Pakistani foreign minister.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is in the headlines these days. The photo taken during Qureshi’s meeting with the Saudi ambassador has sparked controversy. The Pakistani minister, who sat in front of the Saudi ambassador, has come under fire on social media. In the picture, he sits at his feet in front of the messenger, with his shoes facing the messenger. The Pakistani media also mocked his minister’s misguided attitude.
A video of Shah Mehmood Qureshi being teased by a Pakistani channel has been shared on Twitter. On the channel’s show, a ‘spoof’ i.e. fake Shah Mehmood Qureshi is interrogated by the presenter. You’re going to give a loan, it’s like you’re coming to borrow where you are sitting. ‘ The person following Qureshi on this said, ‘This is a conspiracy by our enemies against us. It is to be appreciated that, despite the borrowing, the arrogance was not compromised.
The Pakistani channel mocked Qureshi
‘Some people say you put the shoe on them because your soles are worn out and you show them your poverty,’ the presenter asks. To this the fake Qureshi says, ‘This is an internal matter’. This funny show is not only part of entertainment but also an act of insult to the government of Pakistan. Qureshi’s treatment of the Saudi ambassador has left the Saudi people deeply saddened. During the meeting, the two discussed the latest developments in the region and their relationship with each other.
The Saudi public was outraged
The Saudi public took the meeting differently. One user commented, ‘Pakistan’s Foreign Minister has wrongly welcomed the Saudi Ambassador. The reason for the Pakistani foreign minister to welcome the Saudi ambassador in this way is that, if not for a big reason (medicine), it is shame, stupidity and ignorance of the basic principles of diplomatic ethics. The Twitter user said, ‘If I had been with the Saudi ambassador, I would have gotten up.’
Qureshi’s behavior ‘stupid’
Another user wrote, ‘This is the rude, stupid and non-diplomatic behavior of the Pakistani foreign minister to the ambassador of Saudi Arabia. I appreciate the way the Saudi ambassador quietly tolerated this humiliation. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have deep diplomatic and military ties, but have deteriorated in recent years due to Pakistan’s foolish behavior.
Qureshi posed a major threat to Saudi Arabia
Pakistan, which previously danced at the behest of China and Turkey, has now threatened its old ‘friend’ Saudi Arabia over Kashmir. Frustrated with not supporting Pakistan’s infamous plot, Qureshi, Pakistan’s foreign minister, began threatening the Saudi-led Organization of Islamic State (OIC). He said the OIC should stop hesitating to convene a committee of foreign ministers on the Kashmir issue.
Qureshi said, ‘I would like to once again respectfully inform the OIC that the meeting of the Committee of Foreign Ministers is our expectation. If you cannot invite me, I ask Prime Minister Imran Khan to convene a meeting of Islamic countries ready to stand with us on the Kashmir issue. Responding to another question, Qureshi said Pakistan could not wait any longer.
