At a virtual conference of the BRICS countries, on Thursday, China openly targeted Western countries for factionalism and sanctions. The conference was also attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BRICS are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The BRICS are a group of these five countries. It had its annual summit on Thursday, which went into a virtual state.
The Chinese president, who is presiding over the 14th Congress, indirectly targeted NATO and Quad. Along with the United States, Australia and Japan, India is also part of the Quad.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was formed in 1949 after World War II. It was developed by the United States, Canada and other Western countries. He built it for the defense of the Soviet Union. Then the world was two poles. One superpower is the United States and the other is the Soviet Union.
NATO initially had 12 member states. After the formation of NATO, it was announced that if any of these countries in North America or Europe were attacked, all the countries involved in the organization would consider it an attack against themselves. Every country in NATO will help each other. Its members are now about 30 countries.

What did the Chinese president say at the BRICS?
Meanwhile, China also voiced support for Russia against unilateral sanctions. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin raised sanctions.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the conference. But in his speech, he spoke only about global economic cooperation in the context of the epidemic, rather than publishing reports on the issues raised by China and Russia.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said, “We must abandon the Cold War mentality and sectarianism. We must oppose unilateral barriers and their misuse. The world needs to know that it is better to create a community with a common future as a larger family than to create separate circles.”
China often uses the term exclusive circles to refer to groups such as the Quads. Quad is seen as an anti-China faction and India is also a member.
The Chinese president is indirectly targeting NATO and Quad. China uses ‘Cold War mentality’ on US, with Chinese president targeting US using the same word on Thursday.
As far as the US is concerned, Russia and China seem to be together but India does not agree with Russia and China regarding the US. In such a scenario, Xi Jinping said many things like this before Prime Minister Modi, in which India’s opinion was completely different. It is believed that Xi Jinping’s words will embarrass Prime Minister Modi.

Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS Conference
We must give a voice to equality and justice, said Xi Jinping. We must encourage the international community in accordance with international law to accept true diversity and to maintain international order with the United Nations.
Some countries are expanding their military alliances and talking about full security, pushing other countries to their side, provoking the interests and rights of other countries and vying for supremacy. If we allow this dangerous trend to develop, the world will become more turbulent and insecure. “
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “I hope the BRICS leadership will be relevant in creating a positive, cohesive force to build a multilateral body based on the universal rules of international law and the core principles of the UN Charter.”
At the same time, President Putin said in his speech that the BRICS could find a solution to the crisis in the world economy by targeting Western countries and using financial means to mislead and selfish some countries.

14th BRICS Summit
India refuses to meet in China
This 14th conference of the BRICS was held in a virtual manner because India opted for the online conference instead of going to China. The decision was taken following a two-year standoff between India and China on the eastern Ladakh border.
However, China sought to initiate bilateral talks between the two countries and reach an agreement to set up BRICS in China. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in India on March 24 this year. China is trying to get Prime Minister Modi to come to Beijing for the BRICS summit, but India is not ready for it.
Prime Minister Modi attended the BRICS summit in China last September 2017. Earlier, the Doklam conflict between the two countries came to an end. After this, at the BRICS summit in Brazil, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Modi met in November 2019.
