Japan and India began their first air combat drills on Monday. This is the first time that the two countries have conducted a joint military exercise. But this has cooled China. China says the military exercise has exposed Japan and India’s growing military ambitions against Beijing.
According to China’s official daily Global Times, India and Japan have started this joint military exercise at the instigation of the United States.
The report, citing analysts, said that this joint military exercise between Japan and India reflects the long-term and ever-increasing military ambitions of both countries.
Wei Dongsu, a Beijing-based military expert, said India wants to register its presence in the purchase of military equipment by demonstrating its military capabilities outside the Indian Ocean region.
His motive behind Japan
On the other hand, Japan has welcomed Indian fighter jets on its soil so that it can send its planes to India in future, Wei said. This would help expand Japan’s military operations in other parts of the world.
The report said that the US is wooing Japan and India in its Indo-Pacific strategy to reduce China’s dominance. While India is involved in a border dispute with China, Japan is planning to intervene in the Taiwan issue.
Despite joint military exercises, the two countries lack the strategic will and capability to fight a war in the event of a conflict with Japan or India, the report said. But China must be prepared to face any adverse situation.
Analysts say that through this joint military exercise, the Japanese Air Force will be able to gain extensive experience from the Indian Air Force, especially in the context of China.
Su-30MKI fighter jets are also participating in this joint exercise, the statement said.
Note that China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) operates the SU-30MKKK. Apart from this, Su-30MK2, Su-35, J-11, J-15 and J-16 fighter jets are operational. These are all fighter jets and are similar to Russia’s SU-27 and India’s SU-30MKI.
Explain that India’s Su-30MKI multirole fighter jets, two C-17 Globalmaster transport aircraft, an Il-78 aerial tanker and around 150 soldiers are participating in the Veer Guardian-23 military exercise. Four F-2S and four F-15 multirole fighters from the Japanese Air Force participated in the exercise.
We will tell you that this military exercise will begin on January 16 and continue till January 26. The military exercise is taking place at Hayaguri and Iruma Air Bases in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. The purpose of the exercise is to further deepen the deepening defense and security ties between Japan and India.
